Choosing the Right Size for Your Special Event Banner

Banners come in many shapes and sizes and it is important to select the size that will be efficacious for your needs. The size that you need will depend on how you plan to use the sign, and the space that you have in which to display it. Here are some important considerations when selecting a banner size.

How Large is Your Venue? If you are working with a large space, then you will need to select a large banner that will fill the area. If you select a sign that is too small, it may appear dwarfed by its surroundings. If you plan on hanging a large banner, you will need to make sure that the area is wide enough to allow its proper installation.

If your venue is quite small, a large banner will look out of place, or be impossible to install correctly. In this case, a small banner that can be displayed in a banner stand would work well.

How Many Participants Will Be Attending? If you are attending a special event, such as a trade show, or a flea market, you will need to compete with several other vendors. Having a prominent banner can help you stand out from the crowd.

This type of event will normally provide you with a way to hang a large banner easily and you should have the space that is necessary for the proper display of your banner. If you are one of only a few vendors at an event, you may be able to get away with a smaller sign.

What is Your Message? If you have a long, complicated message to get across to your customers, you will need enough space on the banner to ensure that it is not cramped. A long message that is crammed onto a small banner will not give a good impression. If you have several graphics that you want to include on your sign, or your company name is long, you will need to go with a large banner.

However, if you only need a picture on your banner and a brief message, then a small banner will work well. In this case, a large banner would be overkill and would not provide the correct amount of space for a proper visual appearance.

How Complicated is Your Design? If your design or logo is complicated, a small banner will not showcase it properly. You will need to have enough space on your banner to show your design or logo in the largest size possible. This is particularly important for intricate designs that may lose their appeal when downsized.

If your design just requires the use of a simple logo or one picture, you can use a smaller banner for this purpose.

These are just a few of the considerations to keep in mind. Each business may have different size requirements based on particular products, displays or needs. By taking the time to go over these considerations well before an event, you will be prepared to purchase the right size banner for your company.
